Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia concerned about nurse malpractice
The Cosmetic Physicians Society of Australasia (CPSA) is becoming increasingly aware of moves by nurses to recruit un-informed doctors to prescribe S4 medicines, such as Botulinum Toxin, to enable these nurses to administer unsupervised cosmetic injectable treatments.

Protocol for Delegated Cosmetic S4 Injections
If the patient is taking new medications the nurse would need to check with the supervising doctor prior to the procedure to ensure there were no contraindications to proceeding with the treatment plan.

CPSA Botox Party Policy
The CPSA considers the administration of botulinum toxin or any dermal filler, or the performance of any cosmetic medical procedure, in a party setting, to be incompatible with good medical care. The CPSA believes these types of non-invasive and minimally-invasive cosmetic procedures are medical procedures which should be conducted in the appropriate medical setting.
